How to use the shoe size converter
This shoe size converter shows one size in every system at once: EU, US, UK, Japanese (JP, in cm) and foot length in cm and inches. Choose men, women or kids, pick the system your size is in, then pick the size. If you only know your foot length, use the foot-length box lower down and it returns the smallest chart size that fits. The clothing tab does the same for XS to 4XL against chest, waist and hip.

EU sizes are Paris points: one point is two thirds of a centimetre of the shoe's last, which is why the EU number is roughly 1.5 times the last length in cm. UK sizes step by a third of an inch. Many shops round those differences, so you will see EU 40 and 41 given for UK 6.5 in different places.
How do you convert EU to US shoe size?
Use the chart rather than a formula. The gap between EU and US is not constant across the range: women's EU 38 is US 7, while women's EU 42 is US 10. For a quick check, men's US is the UK size plus 1 and women's US is the UK size plus 2 on this chart, so EU 42 is UK 8 and US 9 for men or US 10 for women.
Are men's and women's sizes interchangeable?
Roughly, with a catch. On this chart a men's US size is one number below the women's with the same foot length, so men's 8 equals women's 9. Several sneaker brands use 1.5 instead (men's 8 equals women's 9.5), so for sneakers read the brand's own conversion line. EU and UK numbers are the same for both genders here.
How to measure your foot
Do it in the evening, standing, with the socks you plan to wear. Put a sheet of paper against a wall, stand with your heel touching the wall, mark the tip of the longest toe and measure from the wall to the mark. Do both feet, since one is often 0.5 cm longer, and use the longer. A foot of 26.6 cm lands on EU 42. If you land between two sizes, go up, particularly for running shoes, where a thumb's width at the front matters.
Kids shoe sizes
Children's sizes run on one continuous scale, with a C (child) range up to UK 13.5 and a Y (youth) range after it. A UK 10 child is EU 28, US 10.5C and about 17.3 cm. Kids grow out of shoes every few months, so measure again before each purchase instead of trusting last year's size.
Clothing size chart in cm
Letter sizes have no legal definition, so treat these as typical body measurements. Women's EU sizes grow 4 cm in bust for every 2 sizes. Men's sizes follow the chest in inches.

Bottoms use the larger of waist and hip, because a pair of trousers that closes at the waist but not over the hips is no use. Asian brands often label one size smaller than this, so an Asian M can fit like a European S.

What is EU size 42 in US shoe size?
EU 42 is US 9 for men (UK 8) and US 10 for women, with a foot length of about 26.6 cm. This chart assumes a standard last, and some brands label the same shoe 8.5 or 9.5.
How do I convert EU to US shoe size?
Look the EU size up in the chart for men, women or kids, because there is no single subtraction that works across the whole range. For example EU 38 is US 7 for women, while EU 42 is US 9 for men.
How do I convert men's to women's shoe size?

A child's UK 10 is EU 28, US 10.5C and about 17.3 cm foot length. Kids sizes marked C are child sizes and Y are youth sizes, and brands round them differently.
What is size M in cm for clothes?
A women's M is EU 38 (US 6, UK 10) with a bust of 88 cm, waist of 70 cm and hips of 96 cm. A men's M is a 38 inch chest, about 97 cm, EU 48.
Why does my size differ between brands?
Each brand grades its own shapes and many size to local customers. A European brand's M and an Asian brand's M can be a full size apart, so use the brand's chart and your measurements, not the label alone.
